Hey Y’all!
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy amidst the back to school swing! Due to coronavirus precautions, it has proven to be more difficult to get around to see everybody. Fortunately, I was able to make it to a few places prior to my return to Gainesville. I was grateful for the invite to the JFCA Youth Show in Tampa back in August. What an honor it is to be a part of an industry that encourages the next generation and takes the time to build such a strong foundation. During my time in Tampa, I was also able to attend the Florida Beef Ambassador contest where our former ambassador Ms. Molly McKettrick handed over the reins to Mr. Nicholas Hammer. Hats off to all of those who competed this year! I look forward to the future of this industry knowing that we have some heavy hitters stepping up to plate!
I was thankful to be present at the Florida CattleWomen’s workshop over in Lake County! We had a great day of excellent presentations, fun games, and awesome cake! I also got to spend some time with our great national cattlemen down at Blackbeard’s Ranch led by our very special and Florida’s own Mr. Marty Smith, I was honored to attend the signing of the Conservation MOU including the NCBA, Department of Interior, United States Fish & Wildlife Service, Ducks Unlimited, Public Lands Council, and Safari Club International.
Most recently, I got to team up with Ms. DeAnne Maples and Daytona International Speedway to create a RaceDay Recipe with Beef It’s What’s For Dinner video. I assure you that I am certainly not the Pioneer Woman, but be sure to be on the lookout for our video and a very special appearance from a not-so-master chef, my dad!
I am looking forward to more adventures and please do not hesitate to contact me! I endeavor to reach as many people as I can whether it’s personally or virtually, despite this global pandemic!
