April Sweetheart’s Message

Hey Y’all!

It’s official! Spring is here and the warm weather is back! There is a long list of reasons why I am a Florida girl, and sunny days like these are at the top of the list. I am so excited to get back outdoors to enjoy this beautiful weather.

It appears that I am not the only one, as ranch rodeo teams across the state are saddling up and competing once again! Back in the day, rodeos were built on the exhibition of horsemanship, toughness, and the true grit of the American cowboy. I would say our Florida cattlemen are still showin’ them how it’s done.

I know it’s not “officially” that time of year, but here in Florida I’d say it’s grilling season!! So fire up the grill because it’s time to cook some beef! Throughout the next month, I would encourage everyone to post about their grilling experience. This past September, Ms. DeAnne Maples encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone to make a Race Day Recipe video in preparation for the Beef Its What’s For Dinner 300 race. I would have never thought it would have gone over so well on social media! Maybe it was my dad’s cowboy hat, the pretty green backdrop, the juicy steaks in front of us, or all of the above but the responses were awesome. That experience really inspires me to make more posts like these, because I think the public truly enjoys seeing the passion for the cattle industry through from our perspective.

I hope to see everyone’s springtime recipes!

Don’t forget to tag #beef and #beefitswhatsfordinner

God Bless, Sally Kempfer
