“Allow your passion to become your purpose, and it will one day become your success”.
As summer comes to a close, we begin the next phase of the season. For some that means the fall calving season, annual ranch cattle sales, beginning or finishing harvesting season, and the start of a new school year for teachers and students. However, no matter where you are in the state of Florida or agriculture industry, for everyone it is another day to continue pursuing your passion!
The Florida Cattlewomen’s Association is no different as our passion allows us to kick back into full gear with upcoming events. July 1st we launched the FCW “Join our Cow Crew” membership drive. Become a member of FCW today and be entered in drawings at each Quarterly meeting, and a grand prize drawing to be held at convention in Marco Island, June of 2022! Don’t worry if you are already a member, recruit a new FCW member and you will be entered to win a prize too!
On July 23rd we held the 2021 Florida Beef Ambassador contest at the Florida State Fair. Congratulations to our new Beef Ambassadors! If you would like to request a Beef Ambassador for your event, please contact committee chairman Tami Newsome.
There are more big events on the horizon as well, for those of you planning to make the trip to Nashville for the ANCW/NCBA convention, we hope you join us to network with cattlemen and cattlewomen from all across the country. Take this opportunity to “Tune in to Tennessee” August 8th & 9th for the ANCW meetings and August 10th – 12th for the NCBA meetings.
Later in August we will host the annual FCW Beef Short Course in Floral City, Saturday, August 28th from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Make plans to enjoy a day of fellowship with other cattlewomen as we focus on the importance of herd health and host the 3rd annual Queen of the Rope event. Registration is $10 and space is limited, so RSVP to FLACattlewomen@gmail.com.
Our next quarterly will be September 9th & 10th, 2021 in Gainesville, FL. Join us for the FCA opening session on Thursday, September 9th followed by the steak-out dinner that night, and the FCW Board of Directors meeting on Friday, September 10th (open to all FCW members). We look forward to seeing you all in The Swamp!
Looking for an opportunity to get involved? FCW needs volunteers to help run the concession stands at the Florida State Ranch Rodeo Finals in Kissimmee, September 24th & 25th. More information will be emailed out with sign up times, but make sure to attend this exciting and fun event!
We hope to see you at some of these upcoming events! Follow the Florida Cattlewomen’s Facebook page for more information and let us know if there is anything the FCW Executive Committee can do to assist you or your County Cattlewomen’s Associations. “Let’s Ride Together” as we “Lead with Passion”!
