President’s Report – February 2022

Hello again,

Happy New Year and welcome to 2022!  My hope is that most everyone has had a great holiday season and got to spend quality time with family and friends.  For those that have lost loved ones, my heart pours out to you and prayers are being sent.  Praying that each day it gets a little easier. God’s plan is a mystery to us, all we can do is trust him and know that we will get to see our loved ones another day.  I’ve also thought a lot lately about our out of state friends in Kentucky and Kansas that have lost so much.  Some lost their entire ranch, cowherds, etc., Now having to start all over because of the devastating storms & fires that tore through.  Sometimes we sit back and wonder just how much more we can take, only to realize how blessed we truly are.

The Florida Cattlemen’s Foundation has already sent relief funds to both states is continuing to gather funds to send to Kentucky & Kansas, you can also send donations directly to either the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Foundation or Kansas Livestock Foundation.

Over late December and early January, the FCA did slow down a bit, it hopefully gave everyone the opportunity for a little down time and rest before the January Quarterly Meeting. By the time you read the Legislative Quarterly held in January this year, will have come and gone, we will have had our day on Capitol Hill working to protect our industry and how we do business. Over the next few months, we will be working with our legislators and doing a few ranch tours, to make sure that they know what our ranchlands do for the environment in our Great State, all while keeping us green.

In early January you should have received an email about online membership.  You will be able to pay your dues, set up auto renew, keep up with our upcoming events, etc.  If you have not yet logged in, please login to the FCA website and update your membership.

Let’s look at your Beef Check Off Dollars. Did you know that your dollars helped in sponsoring the NASCAR Xfinity Series “Beef Its What’s for Dinner 300” at Daytona International Speedway in 2021? With nearly 2 million viewers watching live, this is only the second time in over twenty years that Beef It’s What’s for Dinner has been used on broadcast television. We were able to generate over 1.9 billion impressions digitally.  How about that for growing beef demand?

On February 19,2022 we will be Sponsoring the “Beef It’s What’s for Dinner 300” again! This has been funded by the Federation of State Beef Councils with additional financial and staffing support provided by 14 other contributing State Beef Councils. This is just ONE of the things that your Beef Check Off is doing to grow beef demand to our consumers. Please watch for future updates, until then.
